Quick. They whip up in minutes-literally! Easy. Just dump and blend, you can even have them prepped ahead! Tasty. Smoothies are also delicious and sweet! Make it yours. Easily change up the ingredients to your favorites. Healthy. They are a great nutrient-rich way to start the day.
Healthy Breakfast Choices
For healthy smoothies:
Low fat. Use low-fat milk, low-fat yogurt, and plain greek yogurt. Liquids. Use unsweetened almond milk, coconut water, or coconut milk instead of dairy or vanilla almond milk. Use low-sugar juice. Sweeten it up with natural sugars like honey and maple syrup or stevia. Use organic ingredients. Add greens. We love adding spinach, but kale works as well. Baby greens tend to be milder in flavor, but still have all the nutrients as their older counterparts. Add-ins. Add in chia seeds, oats, fiber, collagen, hemp seeds, nutritional yeast, and flax seeds. Protein powder. Nut butter, like almond butter, also provides great protein and flavor. Healthy fats like avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, fish oil, and MCT oil.
