Recipe Tips

This is a really simple and super delicious syrup recipe. I did note a couple of things that I wanted to share with you so that you aren’t caught off guard when making this. This syrup will foam up quite a bit so use a larger saucepan than you think that you will need. For a thicker syrup simply let it simmer longer. You will also be able to taste a hint of caramel flavor due to the extra cook time. YUM! Stir stir stir. You don’t want the mixture to scorch on the bottom and affect the taste of the entire dish.

Storing Info

STORE syrup in an airtight container ( I usually store my syrup in a mason jar) in the fridge for about 2 weeks. If you notice some separation, just give it a stir to reincorporate it. You can serve it cold or put in the microwave for a few seconds to warm it up. Just remember to remove the metal lid before microwaving.  Great News Everyone- Go ahead and make a double batch because you can store some of it in the freezer. Simply place the extra syrup in a Freezer Ziploc and FREEZE. Now you will always have some on hand. Thaw in the fridge or a bowl of warm water before reheating.
