Easy Crockpot Side dish
Today’s recipe is another we’ve made for years – Crockpot Green Beans with Bacon. They’re a classic side dish to any meal and have become one of our favorite ways to serve the veggies (along with green bean bundles and green bean casserole). One of the main reasons everyone loves this vegetable side is because it’s made with bacon. And we all know that recipes with bacon are almost always amazing. Because this is made in the slow cooker, it literally takes just a few minutes to throw together and JUST a few ingredients. Here is what you’ll need for this recipe:
frozen green beans bacon water salt & pepper
So simple and perfect for any meal, but especially during the holiday season.
Recipe notes and tips
These green beans with bacon are so simple to make in the slow cooker. Here are some things we wanted to make note of for this simple recipe. Can you use fresh green beans? Yes, you can!! They may just need to be trimmed first and cut depending on the size. I use about 1.5 pounds and wash them first. The cooking time will be the same. Can you make this on the stove? Just add all the ingredients to a large pot. Bring to a boil and then turn down heat and simmer for 20-25 minutes. Turkey bacon or smoked turkey work great in the place of the pork bacon if you prefer something different. You can bake it in the oven instead of cooking it on the stovetop! How to store and reheat leftovers: Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat them in the microwave in 30 second intervals. If you would like to use the leftovers in another meal you can easily add them to these recipes
