We Love Slow Cooker Dinners!

Crockpot dinners are a lifesaver for our busy weeknights! One of our favorite dinner recipes is crockpot pork roast because it is packed with flavor. We often repurpose the leftovers from this dish in recipes like Pork Tacos or Loaded Pulled Pork Cups, which means we can enjoy two or more easy dinners in a week.

Ingredients

PREP TIME: 5 minutesCOOK TIME: 8 hours Roast

3-pound pork sirloin roast – Pork sirloin, pork loin roast, pork butt, and pork shoulder roast do well when cooked low and slow. If using a pork shoulder in this recipe, increase the cooking time a bit. I do not recommend using pork tenderloin. 1 (2-ounce) package dry onion soup mix – contains all the seasoning needed for a flavorful roast. 1 (16-ounce) can whole berry cranberry sauce – Use Fresh Cranberry Sauce for even more flavor. If you are not a fan of cranberry sauce, use a mixture of brown sugar and chicken broth.

Gravy

2 tablespoons unsalted butter – is the needed fat to make a roux 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour – combined with the butter, the flour will help thicken the gravy. drippings/juice from the cooked roast – using flavorful drippings as the base for gravy provides an incredible depth of flavor. salt and black pepper – to enhance the natural flavors
