Prep Time : 10 mins    Rice – 1/2 cup    Moong Dal -1 1/2 tbsp    Tur dal -1 1/2 tbsp    Onion -1 big    Garlic – 3-4 cloves finely chopped    Ginger -1 inch piece finely chopped    Green chilli -1 slit    Tomato – 1 big    Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp    Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp    Salt needed    For the seasoning    Oil + ghee – 1 tbsp    Cumin seeds/jeera – 1 tsp    Bay leaf – 1    Curry leaves – few

Method

Note – Khichdi tends to thicken as it cools. So when reheating khichdi, add a little  hot water and then reheat it. You can prepare this khichdi with moong dal alone instead of a mix of moong dal and tur dal. (ie) you must use 1/4 cup moong dal for 1/2 cup rice.
