Storing info
Make ahead of time. Make this Peep Cake up to 24 hours in advance. Cover it with plastic wrap and store it in the refrigerator. Reserve the ⅓ Oreos (that you set aside in Step 1 in a Ziploc. To serve, add the Oreo layer on top and decorate with Easter toppings. STORE. Cover Easter Dirt Cake tightly with plastic wrap or foil and refrigerate for up to 3 days. The candies may need to be removed to do this. FREEZE. This dish can be frozen, but it does not thaw into its original state. For this reason, I do not recommend freezing it when you wish to make it ahead of time, only freeze leftovers. Remove any Easter candies and divide the leftovers into individual serving containers. Freeze for 1 month. Thaw on the counter and eat like ice cream.
