Copycat Recipe
We love to go to Sonic as a family! Personally, I love to get Mozzarella Sticks and an Ocean Water. We love fun drinks! What is ocean water at Sonic? Sonic ocean water ingredients include blue coconut flavor and Sprite. It takes minutes to make and is a kid favorite. We made some a few months ago for a party, and it was a hit. Serve it up with some Sonic pebble ice (our favorite) or look below for some fun ideas on how to serve this for your next party. The options are endless for making this fun, yummy Ocean Water recipe.
How to Make Ocean Water
Like most drink recipes, this ocean water drink is a cinch! SIMPLE SYRUP. Combine water and sugar in a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for 45 seconds, then stir until the sugar is dissolved. COMBINE. Pour into a pitcher and add Sprite, coconut extract, and 3–4 drops of food coloring. Mix well. CHILL. Add ice right before serving.
Serving Suggestions
It’s super fun to add Swedish fish to this drink. Not only is it cute, but you can eat the fish too! Here are a few other fun ways to serve this drink:
Recipe Tips
Coconut extract. This is typically near the vanilla in the baking aisle. The extract is pretty strong.
For less coconut taste, reduce the amount of extract added. For more coconut flavor add more than what’s suggested. Not a coconut fan? Try pineapple extract instead.
Soda. Use Sprite or any lemon-lime soda. Food coloring. The blue food coloring can easily be left out and the taste of this refreshing drink will not be affected. To create a natural blue color, use natural food coloring dyes or a bit of blueberry juice. Sugar. Since the soda is already sweetened, easily reduce the amount of sugar added or try a sugar substitute.
Storing Info
Make ahead of time. This Sonic ocean water recipe is best when consumed quickly, but can be made up to a day ahead of time and kept in the fridge. STORE any leftover Ocean Water Sonic in the fridge for 2-3 days. FREEZE leftover drink in the freezer for up to 3 months. Be aware that the carbonation in the soda will diminish with storage. Use the leftovers to make a slushy or popsicles.
