Easy Pineapple Micheladas Recipe Highlights
Is it too soon for a weekend cocktail? I hope not because we are making a Pineapple Michelada!!
Micheladas are one of the most popular cocktails in Mexico. They symbolize vacation. Warm weather. Palm trees. And fun!
This Pineapple Michelada is SO simple to make. Seriously, you just need to pour a few ingredients into a beer glass with ice and stir. That. Is. It!!!
It’s savory, spicy, sweet, and tart. Everything in one glass!
Oh, and if you do want to make things extra special and delicious you can also rim the glasses with classic Mexican spices, or salt.
What Are Micheladas?
A Michelada is a tomato juice-based beer cocktail. There are a variety of types of Micheladas, depending on the region of Mexico, the ingredients will vary. But today we are making the widely known version made with Clamato, English sauce, and hot sauce. Clamato is a unique and tasty cocktail made with tomato juice and a blend of spices. You can find it in the juice aisle at Walmart. I wanted to add a fruity flavor so I added some pineapple juice. The result of my experiments in mixology was delicious.
Ingredients Notes & Substitutions

Mexican spices — I use Tajin seasoning but swap for salt or chili powder if you prefer. Lime — cut into wedgesIce – Enough to fill your glasses.Clamato juice Original Flavor – See instructions below to make your own Clamato substitute. Pineapple juiceWorcestershire sauceHot sauce – Feel free to add more or less to suit your taste. Pinch of Mexican spices or black pepper – You could substitute for chili powder. Chilled Mexican-style beer– Use your favorite brand. These are our faves: Corona, Modelo, and Estrella Jalisco.
Clamato Substitute
To make your own Clamato substitute, mix 1 cup (240 ml) tomato juice, 1/4 cup (60 ml) clam juice, 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) hot sauce, 1tablespoon (15 ml) lemon juice, and a pinch of celery salt and black pepper
How To Make Pineapple Micheladas At Home

1 – Salt the Glass Rim
Place the Mexican spices on a small plate. Rub a lime wedge around the rim of the 2 large beer glasses and dip into spices. Fill the glasses with the ice.
2 — Shake to Combine
Mix Clamato, pineapple juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and Mexican spices (or black pepper) in a cocktail shaker or mixing cup. Divide the mixture into two glasses. Fill the glasses with chilled beer and garnish with a fresh lime wedge and/or pineapple piece. Stir and serve immediately.
Pineapple Michelada Recipe for A Crowd
Here’s how to make it! It makes a pitcher (8 cups).
2 1/4 cups Clamato2 1/4 cups Pineapple Juice1 1/3 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce1 – 2 teaspoons hot sauce 1/2 teaspoon Mexican spices or black pepper3 chilled Mexican-style beer
Place Clamato, pineapple juice, Worcestershire Sauce, hot sauce, and Mexican spices in a pitcher and mix to combine. Add the beer and mix to combine. Serve over glasses filled with ice and garnish with lime wedges and or pineapple slices. Note: Do not add the beer until you are ready to serve.

Change It Up!
Swap pineapple juice for mango juice to make Mango Micheladas.Swap the Mexican spices with chili powder.Add more hot sauce to make it spicier.Swap the pineapple garnish for bacon, shrimp, jalapeno, or pickles.
