We love Disney treats, and when we aren’t at the parks, we love to bring the magic home with recipes like this milkshake and Mickey Beignets, Churro Funnel Cakes and Apple Pie Caramel Apples.

Aunty Gravity’s Special

We love going to Walt Disney World during the fall. It’s not just because of all the fall decor and pumpkins, but especially because of all the seasonal food. One of our favorite treats there is the Pumpkin Pie Milkshake found at Aunty Gravity’s at Magic Kingdom. It’s cool and pumpkin-y and full of fall flavors. We wanted to take a stab at making it at home, and we are so happy to report that it takes JUST LIKE IT!! We know we can’t be at the parks all fall long, so we are glad we can now make this yummy treat and bring some of the magic home when we are missing the park and treats. Best part is it’s just a great, fall treat. If you love pumpkin and ice cream then you’ll love this yummy concoction.

Pumpkin + Caramel

The caramel isn’t necessary, but boy howdy does it make it taste so good! Caramel and pumpkin spice have always been a great combo, so adding a little bit of caramel to the top is an added flavor that makes the milkshake even more addicting. If you really want the caramel to stick, freeze your cup for a bit first so it sets faster when you add the caramel down the sides. 😉 Store bought caramel works just fine too – but also note that it makes a great addition on top (drizzled over the whipped cream) if you want to go that route as well.

How to Make Pumpkin Milkshakes

Making this milkshake takes just a few minutes! PREP THE CUP. Squirt caramel sauce all over the cups sides BLEND. After you get the caramel cup ready, add your ingredients (ice cream, milk, pumpkin pie filling, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and food coloring – if wanted) to the blender. Blend until you reach a smooth consistency. FOOD COLORING. The food coloring isn’t necessary, but we added it so it looked a little more like the milkshake from Aunty Gravity’s. 😉 Pour into your cup and add whipped cream and garnish with sprinkles or a dash of cinnamon and serve immediately.

Recipe Tips + Tricks

Pie filling: Normally I am always pointing out that recipe needs pumpkin purée, but in this case you will need pumpkin pie filling. The cans look almost the same. You can tell the difference when you read the ingredients. Pumpkin purée lists only pumpkin whereas pumpkin pie filling will have ingredients similar to this “Pumpkin, water, sugar, salt, spices, natural flavors”  Toppings: You can’t go wrong topping this with a dollop of whipped cream just like Disney does. They also add some festive autumn sprinkles. You can easily add a drizzle of caramel or chocolate syrup. Finally, sprinkling some crushed graham crackers adds a delicious element as well.  Storage: You can keep the shake in the fridge for a few hours. Be sure to put it in an airtight container and place it in the coldest part of your refrigerator. If the shake begins to separate, simply blend it back together before drinking.
