Mango juice: You can substitute mango juice for pineapple or passion fruit if you prefer. Grenadine: Grenadine is a nonalcoholic syrup traditionally made from pomegranate. It has a deep red color. It is a popular cocktail ingredient since it adds a delicious flavor and also gives a reddish or pink tint to mixed drinks. You can buy Grenadine in most grocery stores and online.

Please check the recipe card at the bottom of the post for exact quantities and detailed instructions (scroll down). The hard part of making Venezuelan Tizana is cutting all the fruit, but it’s worth the effort. Trust me! Of course, you can use pre-cut fruit from the grocery store if you wish.

Club Soda: For a fizzy version, you could substitute half of the juice for club soda or sparkling water. Grenadine: A little grenadine gives it an eye-catching color and really dresses up the taste. I recommend not skipping it. Chill: Refrigerate for at least one hour before serving to let all the fruit flavors mix together, overnight is better. Fruit: You can use any combination of fruit that you prefer or even better you can use seasonal fruit, so you can save some money too… Isn’t great?

Storing Instructions

Store in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days, after that the fruit will start to get mushy.
